Nutrition Vulnerability Analysis (NVA) Key Informant Interviews

Prev Next

To collect qualitative data that provides contextual insights, triangulates quantitative findings, and amplifies voices of those most affected by the crisis. In settings where formal nutrition assessments are not feasible or when quantitative data is partial or incomplete, qualitative data can help develop a nuanced understanding of nutrition vulnerabilities, coping mechanisms, and barriers to accessing services. Qualitative data helps explain not just what is happening - but why. It provides nuance, contextual insight, and interpretation, enhancing both the technical validity and operational relevance of the analysis.

In an NVA, qualitative data is not optional - it is essential and can serve as the most strategic source of evidence. Whether used to enrich other data (remote assessments or routine sources) or as the core input for analysis, qualitative approach provides critical insights into the drivers, experiences, and evolution of nutrition vulnerability in each given context.
