Welcome to the e-learning section of the VAM Resource Centre. You can access bespoke online courses on wide-ranging topics such as the basics of food security assessments, Essential Needs, Minimum Expenditure Basket, Targeting and Prioritization, Data Management and much more. Back to Basics: Food Security Assessment

An interactive course that gives you an overview of food security assessments, in particular guiding you through the planning and data collection phases of conducting an assessment.

  • WFP staff can access the course on WeLearn (WeLearn_B2B) and obtain a certificate upon completion of the course. Partners can access the course offline (B2B_offline_EN). ***Make sure to extract the zipped folder and run the index file.

Minimum Expenditure Basket

The Minimum Expenditure Basket is an online course that provides the basis for understanding what a Minimum Expenditure Basket (MEB) is. The purpose is to equip World Food Programme (WFP) staff and partners with what you need to get started with constructing a MEB.

Targeting and Prioritization (internal to WFP)

The e-learning course Targeting and Prioritization Fundamentals is now available on WeLearn. This course is a primer on targeting and prioritization and it covers the fundamentals of each step – from assessing needs and designing eligibility criteria, to beneficiary selection and monitoring of the targeting process and outcomes.
