# Qualitative Data Analysis for Essential Needs Assessments

The Essential Needs Assessment guidance note recommends the use of mixed methods, which entail the integration of quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis techniques to better answer assessment questions.

This page includes resources to help you conducting qualitative analysis related to essential needs assessments and triangulate them with findings from quantitative assessments.

**Modules to collect qualitative data**

It is recommended to conduct both focus group discussions (FGD) and in-depth interviews.
