# Implementing an mVAM Survey: Key Steps and Considerations

Remote food security monitoring (mVAM) enables WFP to collect timely, representative, and actionable data from hard-to-reach or insecure areas. Using phone surveys, the system captures key indicators such as food consumption, coping strategies, market access, and women’s dietary diversity.
