# Budgeting for Targeting

It is important for all operations to ensure sufficient human and financial resources are safeguarded to perform tasks related to Targeting and Prioritization. This is also a requirement outlined in the Targeting Assurance Framework, highlighting the need to:

- Ensure the WFP employee structure and resources safeguarded for targeting activities (data collection, appeal, monitoring, etc.) is realistic vis-à-vis the targeting methodologies Ensure targeting activities are budgeted for in agreements with cooperating partners

To safeguard resources, coordination with the budgeting teams in the CO must be done to reflect targeting needs in CO budgets. This is done using the AME tool:
